Durbar Festival
The durbar festival is a vibrant, traditional Hausa cultural and equestrian celebration in Northern Nigeria, often coinciding with the Muslim holidays like Eid, usually a day after Sallah and it's a display of horsemanship and cultural heritage.
The durbar festival has roots in military parade from the 14th century, where noble houses would demonstrate their loyalty and readiness to defend the Emir. The festival is a significant cultural display, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the Hausa people including the Emir and his entourage.
It is also known as Hawan Daushe or Hawan Sallah.
